This is Rene Harrop’s go to gray olive mayfly emerger. It’s a long slender mayfly emerger with sparse materials and synthetic tail to represent a shucking mayfly. If you have ever watched shucking mayflies in the water they are very long and slender, much longer than most commercial patterns represent. Fish this fly as an emerger as the second fly behind your main dry fly. When you no longer have any room to drift or mend let the fly swing through the end of the cast and a lot of times fish will chase this one down, and you wont spook the rising fish.
