Description
Painters Touch 2X Ultra Cover Primers provide a sound base for application of Painters Touch 2X Ultra Cover Enamels on wood, metal, plastic and more. Use of primers promotes topcoat adhesion and helps prevent chipping, cracking and peeling. Use of these primers eliminates the need for multiple coats of enamel finish. Rust-Oleum Painters Touch 2X Ultra Cover Primer Sprays feature an advanced spray system that allows you to spray at any angle, even upside down for those hard to reach areas. Contains a comfort spray tip with a wider finger pad to reduce fatigue caused by continuous spraying.

Application
Use outdoors or in a well ventilated area such as an open garage. Use when temperature is between 50-90ºF (10-32ºC) and humidity is below 65% to ensure proper drying. Do not use on objects that may exceed 200ºF (93ºC) surface temperature. Do not apply to galvanized steel. Avoid spraying in very windy and dusty conditions. Cover surrounding area to protect from spray mist.
Shake can vigorously for one min after the mixing ball begins to rattle. If mixing ball fails to rattle. Do not Strike Can. Shake often during use. Hold can upright 10-16″ from surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spraying. Apply multiple light coats versus one heavy coat. Wet sand on metal and dry sand on wood to achieve the smoothest, most uniform base for the topcoat. Use #400 grit wet or dry sandpaper. For best results, let dry at least 30 mins before wet sanding. Do not use near open flame.
Surface Preparation
All Surfaces Remove all dirt, grease, oil, salt and chemical contaminants by washing the surface with a commercial detergent or other suitable cleaning method. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and allow to fully dry. All surfaces must be dry at time of application
Steel Scrape and wire brush or power tool clean to remove loose rust, scale and deteriorated previous coatings
Previously Coated Previously coated surfaces must be sound and in good condition. Smooth, hard or glossy finishes should be scarified by sanding to create a surface profile. The Painters Touch 2X Ultra Cover Primers are compatible with most coatings, but a test patch is suggested
Dry & Recoat
Dry and recoat times are based on 70°F (21°C) and 50% relative humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures. Dries to the touch in 20 mins, to handle in 1 hr and is fully dry in 24 hr. Apply a second coat of primer or Painters Touch 2X Ultra Cover Enamel within 1 hr or after 24 hr.
Clean-Up
When finished spraying, wipe off tip before storing. Clean up wet paint with xylene or mineral spirits. Properly discard empty container. Do not burn or place in home trash compactor.
Clogging
If valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse it in a solvent such as mineral spirits. Do not stick pin or other object into the stem.
